The GOP appears content to be seen as the floundering opposition party these days. They confirmed this by inviting America's favourite unlicensed, tax-challenged superhero plumber to be a featured speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference earlier this week.
Rumours have leaked that original invitee ‘Larry The Cable Guy’ was unable to attend due to his riotous “git ‘er done” catch-phrase and its link to progress, a known nemesis of the conference.
Despite being the much ridiculed public 'tool' of John McCain's waning presidential campaign in 2008, “Joe The Plumber” Wurzelbacher still believes his own hype. Either this man is clever and is merely cashing in on his fifteen minutes of fame or he is incredibly dumb and actually believes his own hype. I would lean towards the latter.
It has now become apparent that Joe was not happy with his one-time mentor John McCain and has talked some trash about the old geezer in his new book. On a positive note, he managed to sell 5 copies at a book signing in Washington DC on Wednesday – that’s a solid start. Perhaps Joe has found his niche - Why work with sewage when you can write it?
